Knights of Columbus
Marist Council #7772
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works." (Quoted from www.kofc.org)
At St. John's the Knights are very active. Approximately 95% of the men in the parish are registered members. They are actively involved in the life of the parish. Some of their regular activities include monthly meetings; attendance at the parish's monthly Holy Hours; Tootsie Roll drive every spring with proceeds going to help the mentally impaired in the local community; weekly bingo with proceeds going to social concerns of the community; Lenten fish fries with the proceeds going to help the youth in the parish to attend the summer youth conference at Franciscan University; and various local, state and national pro-life activities.
If you are new in the area and have any questions, contact any of the men in the parish, chances are, they'll be a Knight.
